Host your private event at Morven Museum & garden
Consider an elegant National Historic Landmark for an extraordinary event!
Morven Museum & Garden allows select private events, including weddings, to be held at its pristine buildings and grounds. The 18th century home of Richard Stockton, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, and a National Historic Landmark, Morven served as the New Jersey Governor’s mansion as well as home to Robert Wood Johnson, Jr. It offers several unique venues suitable for a variety of private events.
Our new Stockton Education Center opened in June 2018 with room for up to 130 in a spacious window-walled room that opens directly to the lawn and the Colonial Revival Garden offering vistas to the pool house, spray fountain and the Mansion. Coupled with the sky-lit atrium and adjacent classroom, the Stockton Center features maximum flexibility in our most gracious event space. Appointed with state of the art technology, we can accommodate meetings and retreats as easily as social gatherings.
The First Floor of the mansion features elegant galleries presenting Morven’s history with the Garden Room centrally located and overlooking the Colonial Revival Garden. It is an ideal space for small dinners, luncheons, and cocktail receptions.
The Colonial Revival Garden, originally planted in the early 20th century, is a beautiful outdoor space with spring bulbs, phlox throughout the summer, and bright fall foliage. The Grand Victorian Front Lawn, dotted with majestic trees and beds of heirloom perennials from the 18th and 19th centuries, can accommodate large groups in a tented arena with Morven’s mansion façade as a backdrop.
Morven has on-site parking for 60 cars. We also offer non-profit rates to qualified organizations.
