This year’s morven in May artists:
Morven in May is a garden-themed weekend to enjoy with friends: shop craft vendors, watch garden and craft demonstrations, and peruse unusual plants, all while supporting the national historic landmark.
This year’s Morven in May Craft Sale pays homage to Morven's long history as a distinguished garden. Craft vendors will celebrate all things garden, outdoor living, and products made of natural elements. Artist demonstrations including basketry, eco-printed scarves, ceramic birdhouses and more, and kids’ activities including flower crowns and colorful wind streamers, promise a fun-filled weekend for all!
Morven’s annual plant sale has become a sought after resource for unusual and distinct varieties that thrive in New Jersey’s Zone 6. Curated by Morven’s horticulturist, Pam Ruch, with the help of Louise Senior and a team of seasoned volunteers, 2019 is the 18th year of this remarkable plant sale. Deer resistant plants and prolific container plants are specifically sourced from trusted growers.
A ticketed Preview Party is hosted on the Friday evening, May 3 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m., allows guests a first look at the weekend’s offerings. Preview party tickets start at $175.00. To purchase tickets or for more information contact Jessica Napodano, Morven’s Director of Development at firstname.lastname@example.org or 609.924.8144, ext. 101.
Paint Out Princeton at Morven in May
Morven is delighted to once again collaborate with the Arts Council of Princeton to bring its Paint Out Princeton plein air art program to our historic grounds and blooming garden.
Discover the endless possibilities in capturing the spirit and essence of this historic site. The mansion, former residence of New Jersey’s Governors and 18th-century home of Richard Stockton, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, has an impressive façade and wonderful architectural details. The Courtyard offers views of the mansion, surrounding out buildings, and the glorious Colonial Revival Garden. The Great Lawn is dotted with majestic trees and beds of heirloom plants. Explore the changing effects of natural light as it bathes the grounds throughout the day. The public enjoying Morven in May will be invited to visit and observe artists at work! Pre-registration is required. Space is limited and registration is exclusively through the Arts Council of Princeton
Artists supply their own materials, canvas, easel, rags, chair, garbage bags and sunscreen.
